About Rochester Hills Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Founded by Dr. Perkins

Dr. Perkins founded Rochester Hills Orthopedics and Sports Medicine with a focus on providing patient-first orthopedic care for athletes and active individuals. His vision was to create a practice where patients could receive complete care for sports injuries and orthopedic conditions in one place. Today, that approach continues to guide how our team treats every patient, with a focus on movement, recovery, and long-term health.

Leadership in Advanced Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Perkins is an experienced orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder procedures, including ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, and joint replacement. His approach focuses on helping patients recover strength, restore movement, and return to activity safely.

Comprehensive Surgical Experience and Patient Care

As a managing partner of the Orthopedic Surgical Institute, an on-site AAAHC-certified ambulatory surgical center, Dr. Perkins oversees the full surgical process from evaluation through recovery. He works closely with nurses, surgical coordinators, and physical therapy providers to ensure patients receive clear guidance, coordinated care, and a smooth recovery experience.

Supporting Athletes and Active Individuals

We work with middle school, high school, and college athletes along with active adults throughout Rochester Hills. Our approach focuses on helping patients recover from injuries, improve performance, and maintain long-term mobility. Every treatment plan is built around the patient’s goals and activity level.

Holistic Patient Care

Recovery involves more than treating an injury. Our team considers activity level, strength, conditioning, and overall health when building a treatment plan. By working closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and support systems, we provide care that helps patients recover and stay active.

Continuity of Care

With an on-site outpatient surgical center, physical therapy, and bracing support, patients receive coordinated care from diagnosis through recovery. This approach ensures clear communication, consistent treatment, and a better recovery experience.

Non-Surgical and Regenerative Treatment Options

Not every condition requires surgery. We offer non-surgical treatment options including rehabilitation and orthopedic biologics such as PRP and other regenerative therapies. These treatments are designed to reduce pain, support healing, and help patients return to activity.
