Teresa Schroeder is a warm and compassionate board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Dr. Perkins’ practice in 2017. With a passion for helping others and a deep understanding of the human body, Teresa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every patient interaction truly wanting to understand and get to know them as individuals with specific needs.

Educational Background

Teresa’s journey in the medical field began in her hometown, the Metro Detroit area, where she attended L’Anse Creuse High School. She went on to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the prestigious University of Michigan and later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University.

Professional Experience

Before joining Dr. Perkins’ team, Teresa gained invaluable experience working as a Registered Nurse in the Trauma/Burn ICU and Cardiac Surgery ICU at the University of Michigan Hospital for five years. Her expertise extends to working as a Nurse Practitioner in a walk-in clinic and with an orthopedic spine surgery team.

A Passion for Sports Medicine and Nutrition

As a lifelong athlete herself, Teresa has a deep passion for sports medicine. She understands the importance of proper nutrition in athletics and overall well-being. Her personal experiences fuel her dedication to helping patients regain functionality and live pain-free lives.

Hobbies and Family

When not caring for patients, Teresa enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter, extended family, and friends. She embraces an active lifestyle, indulging in activities such as running, biking, yoga, triathlons, and tennis. Teresa also finds joy in traveling, cooking, and cheering for her alma mater, the University of Michigan Wolverines.
