Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapy staff is well-equipped to treat all types of injury and surgical procedures, but what makes us stand out from the rest is the comprehensive team treatment approach we provide to each patient. The doctor, nurse practitioner, X-ray technician, physical therapist, and surgical scheduling coordinator all work together to provide the best and most complete care possible. Our therapy staff goes above and beyond offering pre-operative total knee joint classes and care, as well as in-home therapy with a seamless transition to our outpatient clinic, conveniently located in the same building as the surgical center (OSI).

Our therapists are very knowledgeable regarding the surgical techniques and procedures, precisely following the protocols and guidelines set forth by Dr. Perkins. In our physical therapy department, we help the everyday active person develop, restore, and maintain movement and functional ability whether they have long-term goals of returning to competitive athletics, recreational activities, or work duties safely. We provide many different treatment approaches including:

  • Strengthening and stabilization exercises
  • Joint mobilizations
  • IASTM
  • Taping techniques
  • Functional dry needling
  • Modalities
  • and more

The physical therapy department also takes great pride and enjoyment in working with our “return to sport” athletes. Whether it’s a minor injury or a more involved surgical procedure, our staff is very well-versed in rehabilitation in a variety of sports i.e. football, basketball, baseball, soccer, running, swimming, wrestling, gymnastics, and dance. Our goal is to return our athletes to their best potential through proper athletic testing and assessment, education on the prevention of injury and re-injury, and to recover or improve their performance. We utilize a one-on-one treatment approach focusing on form and mechanics, a specialized jumping program, and a state-of-the-art return-to-sports testing program called dorsaVi*

*dorsaVi, The ViPerform™ system, consists of wearable motion and muscle activity sensors that record data at 200 frames per second, and intuitive software with sophisticated algorithms that turn robust data into easy-to-read human movement data and meaningful results about how athletes are moving.
